Looking for good massage blogs online, I discovered:

There are lots of licensed massage therapists with websites.

There are lots of massage therapy schools with websites.

There are TONS of websites claiming they can tell you what massage therapy schools to attend, what products to buy once you’re there, and how their particular method of studying is the best thing since Kellogg first dreamed up the masterful combination of abdominal kneading and cornflakes. Blech.

And there are a couple of massage websites that offer cheerful, idealistic chats about massage therapy school from people who graduated 30 years ago, with virtually none of the nitty-gritty details that actually MATTER.

And NONE of them are ever funny. Seriously? I require humor in my education.

Massage therapy schools are funny places. They’re aggravating places. They’re places where you can learn more about yourself and your body than you ever imagined. Sometimes they make you want to dedicate your life to this amazing profession. Sometimes they make you want to scratch your head, or scream. Sometimes they make you want to search the internet for anybody else who gets what your life has become and can say something moderately helpful on the matter.

So I created LMT or Bust. Because I think massage therapy students don’t just want to pass. They want to kick butt and enjoy a bit of laughter along the way. Agree? Disagree? Leave a comment, and let’s have it out. (Nonviolently, or course. With bolsters.)

Peace.
